PolyBuster screws have a #17 cutter tip and special thread design to cut into the board without splitting it, and to pull fibers down to prevent “mushrooming” (raised material around the screw head). This keeps the deck surface smooth and attractive.

They are available in 305 and 316 stainless steel, giving excellent resistance to rust and corrosion in outdoor environments, including coastal or high‑moisture area. Stainless steel grades are chosen based on exposure level — 305 for general use, 316 for salt‑spray or harsh conditions.
